His areas of expertise include leadership, mindset, managing change, influence, advanced presentation skills, team-building, conflict resolution, difficult conversations, coaching skills, and much more. Todd coaches himself (just like his clients) to find opportunities for growth and thriving amidst constant change!

Prior to launching The Mindset Studio, Todd was a Senior Consultant for Sampson Coaching and Consulting (SCC) for ten years and maintains a close working relationship with SCC to this day. As a Senior Consultant at Sampson Coaching and Consulting (SCC), Todd received rave reviews from clients for both his individual coaching and workshop facilitation. Todd brings a wealth of experience in leading organizations and teams to dramatic, lasting results. His adaptability, positive spirit, and solution focused mind prevail no matter the circumstances.

Todd started his professional life in the music business as a Senior A&R Executive for ThroBack/Atlantic Records & Windswept Music Publishing. Todd formed the independent record label ThroBack Records and helped take the company’s first album release to Gold Record status. He facilitated millions of record sales globally and played an integral role in placing music in hit TV shows and movies such as Spider Man 2, The Punisher, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Entourage, and more. For over a decade Todd played an integral role in artist development. Among other things, he worked closely with young songwriters and recording artists to identify, interrupt, and transcend the limiting beliefs and behaviors that prevented their personal and professional success.

Similarly, as a college professor, Todd strives to fill the champion, mentor, advocate role for students as they navigate the pressures of life and explore what they think, feel, want, and need. Todd earned his Master’s Degree with Distinction in Communication Studies, with a focus on Organizational Communication and Interpersonal Communication. He is certified as a Coach by the International Coaching Federation.

As a current and active member of the California State University, Northridge faculty, Todd specializes in leadership development, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, public speaking, argumentation, organizational communication, and intercultural communication. Todd’s dynamic, impactful facilitation style earned him the two-time honor of the Polished Apple Outstanding Teaching Award. He is also a published researcher, having co-authored a study featured in a Special Edition of The Howard Journal of Communications, and was invited to present this important research at the National Communication Association conference.

On a personal level, Todd begins every day with a meditation practice, cup of coffee and one of his three dogs at his feet. Todd is the proud father of five children. When he’s not coaching a kids sports team or attending his children’s extracurricular events, he can be found at the beach, exploring the tide pools of the Central California coast or snowboarding in Mammoth.
